Upcoming Gallery Event: Signs of Resistance
Coming Early May 2026
This is a No Kings follow-up event, for sane, democracy-loving people in our deep red area to be in community with one another. It will be a loose and informal gallery-opening type show where most of the shop's usual wares will still be available for purchase but the walls will be covered with protest signs!
The date is TBD, but will be between April 30 and May 10 and on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday afternoon or evening. Watch this space, as it will be updated as soon as the date is set.
If you will be in the Alabama/Georgia/Tennessee Tri-state area during that time and wish to attend, we welcome you. If you'd like to display some protest signs, we would LOVE that - please send an email to comingupviolets@gmail.com to let us know and include a photo of any signs you would bring, along with a rough idea what the size of each sign is. This is purely for the purposes of better planning the exhibit.
Open Studio Protest Sign Workshop
Between now and then, the studio will be open
- Thursdays 10 - 3,
- Fridays 10 - 4 (later with RSVP), and
- Saturdays 10 - 4
(Sundays 11 - 3 are possible with RSVP)
for anyone who would like to make a protest sign of their own!

You can come whether you'd like help making a protest sign or if you just want a place to go work on one around other people.

Bring your own materials if you can, but if you don't have supplies, you can use ours!

You can keep your sign here for as long as you need if you're not comfortable bringing it home for any reason.

We Are Looking For Volunteers
Folks, this gallery is essentially a one-woman operation, and that woman is pretty rickety. So we're going to need some helping hands in order to put on a free event. Please send us an email if you'd be willing & able to come help set up, break down, promote the event, etc. Students are welcome.
